Speaker: Sunaina Arya
Sunaina’s talk examined the intricate relationships that caste, gender, and sexuality have in South Asian societies. It will investigate how historical, social, and cultural elements interact to create a complex web of privileges and oppressions that disproportionately affects marginalised groups. The entangling of these identities explicates how individuals experience the multifaceted nature of discrimination. She foregrounded a philosophical investigation of the inter-relations between caste, gender, and sexuality identities and demands a deeper comprehension of social justice values.
